COMMUNITY LUNCH

Wednesdays from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., you can expect to find our kitchen and dining room buzzing with activity.

Each week features a unique menu item prepared by our in-house chefs and volunteers and served buffet style. We offer this meal on a voluntary donation model to provide everyone equal opportunity to enjoy a healthy meal without financial barriers. Seating is family-style, so each week lends itself to a new experience.

There is something special about breaking bread with your neighbours and the social setting a meal creates. Sharing conversations, stories, and laughter while eating with others helps create community and remedy social isolation. Strangers become neighbours at our Community Meals.

As of 2019, The Nourish & Develop Foundation has partnered with Community Care Durham to provide Wednesday’s lunch as a Meals on Wheels menu. Since September 2019, we have provided over 300 Community Lunch Meals through this program. If you’d like to get involved, please click here.

Come for lunch, meet new friends, taste great food, and receive valuable information. Everyone is welcome! If you can’t stay for lunch, we do provide take-out for pick up only.
