PROCESSING & PRESERVING

Having a bountiful harvest is the result of hard work and planning and we don’t want to let any of that go to waste! We are grateful to have local farm partners, like our Commons Farm, who generously donate and allow us to glean fresh produce. 

At The Nourish and Develop Foundation Community Kitchen, our summer and fall months are busy preserving the harvest, whether it’s preparing and freezing fresh produce or canning prepared sauces and chutneys to enjoy the fresh flavours through the winter months. Our kitchen staff work hard to use everything we have but at times need a little help us reach our goals. 

Whether you join us for our Preserving Club or volunteer with us during kitchen hours, assistance to help process all of our produce is greatly appreciated! Classes are also available to help you learn to make the most of your garden bounty.
